My 1972 1300 Beetle.
This is my first and only car, a 1972 1300 Beetle which i have owned since i was 15. A few general pics will follow but check out the blog for updates to the car!
It runs a stock as rock 1300TP engine at the moment with the only modification being Cartune style flared tail pipes. Bodywork wise it is mostly stock with a crap paint job done with yacht enamel! It runs europa bumpers all round with over riders on the front and clear front indicators.
Inside you will find a set of stock black basket weave seats but with a US Spec rare high back version for the driver and a matching Securon harness. Homemade o atmeal carpets cover the floor as a temporary solution and the dash is mostly stock bar a central stainless switch panel with aircraft style switches.
As it looks on 01/03/08

The suspension has been customised slightly but is not too far away from stock. Last summer i had a new Puma adjustable beam installed and the front is subsequently lowered about 2.5" up front. The rear Z bar has been shimmed up with anti roll bar rubbers to prevent swing axle jacking. New stock shocks are fitted at the back and i run Cofap gas shocks up front for handling.
I also had front disc brakes installed at the same time as the new beam which increased stopping power a bit and then i completely replaced and overhauled all of the rear brake components.
